Indonesia is an archipelagic country of 17,508 islands (6,000 inhabited) stretching along the equator in South East Asia. The country’s strategic sea-lane position fostered inter-island and international trade; trade has since fundamentally shaped Indonesian history.

The area of Indonesia is populated by peoples of various migrations, creating a diversity of cultures, ethnicities, and languages. The archipelago’s landforms and climate significantly influenced agriculture and trade, and the formation of states.

Lombok is located in Indonesia and, just like Bali, is a part of the Lesser Sunda Islands. It lies east of Bali and west of Sumbawa. The island has an area of 4,725 km2 and has 3,100,000 inhabitants. 80% of them are Muslim Sasak, 10% are Balinese Hindu, 5% are Bodhas (Aboriginals), and 5% are of Chinese descent.

The capital is Mataram. The city has about 360,000 inhabitants and is located on the west side of the island. Lombok is packed with jungle, beautiful rice fields, long white beaches, and impressive volcanoes.

Bumbang Bay

The location where we offer villas is Bumbang Bay. Bumbang Bay is located on the south coast of Lombok and is marked by a beautiful, wide, white sandy beach and azure blue sea. The bay is sheltered, so there is little wave action: ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The bay is surrounded by green hills and is oriented towards the (south) west, overlooking the Indian Ocean and Gerupuk Bay.

Perfect beaches and relaxed atmosphere

Lombok has beautiful white sandy beaches, both north and south, on which one can relax. The beaches offer wonderful views and breathtaking sunsets.

Fantastic sites for diving and surfing

There are beautiful diving locations at various places. For instance, the Gili Islands northwest of Lombok are paradise on earth thanks to the white beaches, the relaxed atmosphere, and the clear blue sea. The good diving and snorkeling opportunities make the Gili islands the hotspot for the avid diver. Kuta Beach in the south of Lombok is the place for surfers. The reef off the coast and white sandy beaches attract surfers from around the world.
